This year’s entertainment is Beethoven’s Nightmare – the only all deaf band in the world! The group’s style is a mixture of rock ‘n’ roll and
pop infused with American Sign Language. They play hard-driving, rocking music, bending on volume, and pulsating with rhythm.
Deaf Rock Music consists of a heavy beat of bass and drums, interacting with a high level of visual art light work. These dedicated
deaf musicians are exceptional in terms of creating vibrant musical rock beat, distinctive lyrics, sign language theatre show, and
new-fashioned sound generally expressed from the hearts of deaf performers. Join us for an unforgettable evening! |

The D.E.A.F. Awards is a valuable opportunity for the young adults who will be participating in the Making a Difference with Your Future workshop, occurring during the same weekend. Earlier in the day, these youth, who are deaf or hard of hearing, will have an opportunity to showcase the skills and knowledge they have gained throughout the weekend during an exciting competition. The four winners of this competition will be announced during the D.E.A.F. Awards. |
The D.E.A.F. Awards is also an opportunity for the students participating in the Making a Difference with Your
Future workshop to showcase their skills. Through a brief question and answer period, the students compete for wonderful prizes. Each student is required to
answer one of the 4 following questions. (Winners pictured are from 2008.)
